New Life Pentecostal Church was founded by Reverend and Mrs. Doril Green in 1983. Reverend Green’s desire was to see people find their way to the saving grace of Jesus Christ in the community of Downsview, Ontario. With the blessings of their pastor, the late Rev. B. J. Church and with the support of the late Rev. F. W. McKenzie, NLPC was birthed in the Oakdale Junior High School Auditorium. There were approximately 50 people in attendance during the first service on Sunday, May 3rd, 1983.

The fire of Pentecost swept through the auditorium every Sunday morning. People from the community were baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Spirit, just like the day of Pentecost. During this time, evening services could not be held at the school but this did not hinder the work of God. New Life Pentecostal Church joined Weston United Pentecostal Church in praise and worship every Sunday evening.

A building was purchased at 65 Irondale Drive during the fall of 1995. The congregation finally had a place to call “home”. Today, an average of 200 people can be seen entering the building for praise and worship every Sunday morning.

It is the mission of New Life Pentecostal Church “to reach the people of the community in order to teach, equip and develop a generation of respectful people sincerely dedicated to the service of the Lord”.
